The Futura I Solar Complex

The Futura I Solar Complex is one of the largest solar farms in the Americas. Located in the Juazeiro region in the state of Bahia, the farm boasts an output of 837 megawatt peak (nominal power) and significantly contributes to a more renewable energy matrix. There are over 22 photovoltaic generators and more than 1.4 million solar panels over an area of 1,649 hectares (which equates to around 1,649 soccer pitches).
The complex is connected to the National Interconnected System and will produce enough energy to supply about 1.7 million people.
